RecallSea-Doo Switch Safety Update TTransport Canada recently issued a reminder that BRP is conducting a safety recall on MY22 to MY26 Sea-Doo Switch. Improper distribution of passengers and cargo weight could overload the front of the watercraft and cause instability, nosediving and possibly lead to capsizing. The condition worsens if water evacuation from the hull is not optimal. READ MORE |
Tech TalkSealing the boat’s prop shaft In a boat with a traditional prop and shaft arrangement, sail or power, the engine’s transmission turns a straight shaft, at the end of which is a propeller. The shaft passes from inside of the boat, where it is connected to the engine/transmission, through the boat’s hull to the open water around the boat. The shaft must be free to turn, but the hull also needs to be watertight. READ MORE |

Back on the (Very Chilly) Lake This shot was one of many taken by Elias Gates-Kass on the overnight Susan Hood Race. It even looks cold despite the warm lighting.
