Message From The Editor 2026 is Starting off with Big News
This edition of Boating Industry Canada News Week Digest starts off with the news that the Toronto International Boat Show will be starting a new chapter as it joins the boat show portfolio of UK-listed Informa, owner of exceptional boating events, including the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, the Palm Beach International Boat Show, the Discover Boating Miami International Boat Show, the Newport International Boat Show, and others. Read the important details below from Linda Waddell and the team at TIBS.
Education, figures prominently in this edition of News Week as well. Georgian College has an ABYC Marine System Certification program starting at Georgian College in just a couple of weeks. Then, other educational sessions include the ABYC 2026 Marine Law symposium and NMEA trainings and workshops coming up soon as well. Continuing the focus on our Marine Technicians, ABYC has set the date for their Annual Marine Service Technician Week. This is a time to stop and express our appreciation for the men and women who keep the boats running and safe. We hope you will publicize and support that.
